Subaru’s upcoming entry in the coupe segment, the Subaru BRZ, and its Toyota twin, the FT-86, are a couple of the most eagerly anticipated cars of the season using world premiere set for next month’s Tokyo Motor Show.
These have been, Toyota has tantalized us with three versions of the RWD coupe, while Subaru has been more restrained, revealing a transparent concept in Geneva and Frankfurt with not much details. The jointly developed racecar, in the guises, promises to be very capable and fun they are driving.
Now Subaru, which has undertaken a lot of the engineering work providing the 2.0-liter flat-four engine (albeit that has a Toyota-sourced direct fuel injection) that can power both cars, has allegedly revealed some worth it to read facts to British magazine Autocar.

According to the report, despite sharing a similar engine using the FT-86, Subaru’s different mapping with the ECU will allow the four-pot to supply “less than 300HP”. If true, which means the BRZ is going to be much more powerful than its Toyota twin that may be rumored into the future with about 200 ponies.
Subaru has laid claims that this BRZ (and, presumably, the FT-86) should have the best center of gravity of any car currently in production, thanks to some extent to your rear-wheel drive configuration that permits the reduced positioning on the flat-four engine.
