Following its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show trapped on tape, Rolls-Royce’s 102EX electric Phantom prototype has been touring the planet so as to not simply gather vital data for engineers and also to gauge potential client respond to this sort of vehicle ever being launched by the bespoke British brand.

Having already traveled through elements of Europe and Asia, the 102EX recently made its solution to Nyc where John Voelcker, our green car expect over at Green Car Reports, had the capacity they are driving it.

After a quick 20 minutes driving Voelcker might come away by initial impressions.

What separated itself most was the truth that the 100 % battery powered Phantom drove within a manner nearly the same as how its internal combustion powered siblings would. That may be, rather silently though an effortless thrust you are likely to expect at a Rolls-Royce.

Another aspect worth mentioning became a insufficient “idle creep,” meaning parking maneuvers and stop and go traffic required constant switching relating to the accelerator and brake.

Old-world charm, resolute styling and blue-blooded buyers will not be the first things one mentally associates with electric-powered cars, but Rolls-Royce thinks the mix makes perfect sense. Instantaneous torque, quiet operation and urban propriety all work in favor of the electric Rolls–and to some extent we need to agree.

Few places on the planet elicit visions of specific automobiles and also Dubai elicits visions of bright, gaudy supercars. Not that there’s anything wrong with this.

It’s never really that surprising each time a supercar manufacturer–especially one called Bugatti–unveils a loud exclusive edition for the Dubai Motor Show. In fact, it would be more surprising whether it didn’t.

With the aging Veyron Grand Sport in their line right now, Bugatti is keeping a persons vision alive with special editions. For Dubai, it debuted three new Middle Eastern-market Grand Sport 16.4s.

The model that speaks the loudest may be the yellow-and-black version. The colours represent Ettore Bugatti’s favorites. The bulk of the surface is bright yellow, while using wheels and underside adding the contrasting black. Inside, yellow leather dominates, even though the car’s dashboard, leader and gearshift are covered in black, yellow-stitched leather. The center console is black carbon. This bumble-Bugatti carries a sale price of merely one.58 million euros ($2.14 million).

The second model, which we’d call probably the most interesting one, gets an all-new green carbon fiber body framed by polished aluminum. The edges, rear-view mirrors and EB logo are done up in polished aluminum. The inner continues the green-and-aluminum theme. The price for this foresty convertible is 1.74 million euros ($2.36 million).

One more model bears the striking blue carbon that we’ve seen around the Veyron Super Sport, offset by polished aluminum underneath, around the grille and air intakes, as well as on the edges. Inside, tangerine leather covers many of the cabin, save for that door panels, dashboard, steering wheel and console, which tackle nowhere theme available as either dark Indigo leather or blue carbon. That model shares the 1.74-million-euro base featuring its green-carbon sibling.

As you’d expect with any proper $2 million car, buyers will have the complete Bugatti buffet of choices to dine from.

Unveiled for the Dubai Motor Show, this Evoque looks pretty good with the body kit Startech created for it along with the monochrome effect also suits it. Well, maybe the wheels really are a bit too show offy, nevertheless the rest if it’s good.

Those ghastly wheels are of size 21-inch, while 20s and 22s can also be found. The tuner has lowered the suspension to really make it look really good, and you shouldn’t do this simply because you will ruin the quality of ride as well as car’s decent off-road capabilities. Not that any Evoque owner is going to apply it offroad.

Startech also supplies a sport exhausts system, an electric package to the car’s 2.0 liter petrol engine plus an interior full of leather and Alcantara in non colored documents.

There is no secret that this BMW M3 is a spectacular vehicle. As well as the those who still want more out of their sports cars, tuner shops are typically on the spot to cause them to more ferocious.

G-Power is definitely renowned for tuning M3s (the prime example being the G-Power M3 GTS detailed with 635 horsepower), evidently they’ve got more tricks up their sleeve. Their newest M3-based creation could be the 2011 G-Power BMW M3 Tornado RS, requires the M3 into supercar killing territory.

Even though the G-Power M3 GTS is a secret strong race-ready road car that can take on just about anyone, the G-Power M3 Tornado RS is much, greater. This car comes with G-Power’s top of the line ASA T1-723 supercharger. Forged pistons co-created with Mahle plus a modified crankshaft that increased the V8’s displacement to 4.6 liters are the modifications designed to make the engine ready with this supercharger.

A carbon fibre airbox which is 8kg lighter compared to the stock aluminum airbox, as well as a customized cooling system allows the V8 engine to hold its cool even under intense pressure. Every one of these modifications accumulate to produce a maximum creation of 720 horsepower, enough to get a zero to 200 kilometers per hour acceleration period of less than 10 seconds.

Its body shell, modified by multiple carbon fibre bits that lowers curb weight and improves aerodynamics, is often a sight to behold too, simply adds up to the advantage on this vehicle. Ceramic brakes help with stopping even during super high speeds, and 20 inch wheels give this supercar legs. Regardless of your meaning of the supercar is, the G-Power BMW M3 Tornado RS should fit seamlessly.

The latest Volkswagen Jetta didn’t do much to fascinate enthusiasts in its first model year, though 2012, the VW Jetta gets its GLI back–and that model earns a rating of seven you will come to MotorAuthority.

The GLI succeeds many past models that took Jetta basics and transformed them with better tires, quicker steering, and also a more sporty interior. The 2012 goes one step further, even, with the addition of an entirely different rear suspension compared to the one seen on base cars, plus a soft-touch dash, too.

Basic fundamentals: Volkswagen’s Jetta grew significantly last year, to help the brand reach more American buyers. What’s more, it gained a more affordable interior plus a torsion-beam rear suspension, cost-cutting moves that helped VW attract a sub-$16,000 Jetta for the first time in years. The recipe’s worked until now, with Jetta sales up greater than 50 percent within the year.

While aficionados hated the not-quite VW handling and interior, engineers were already putting the finishing touches on the GLI. They started which has a rorty turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a well-known entity from the VW world, with 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. The engine’s coupled to some range of six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch (DSG) transmissions, both fine units. We love the paddle-shifted DSG, though either, the turbo’s flat torque band and grunty vocals give an urgency on the GLI that’s completely missing from the base four-cylinder, five-cylinder, and diesel Jettas. VW claims a 0-60 mph period of less than 8.0 seconds, along with the DSG, quotes EPA gas mileage at 23/29 mpg.

The GLI’s handling is a cut higher than the base Jetta as well. The torsion-beam back of other models is swapped out for the multi-link buttocks that’s also found in the new VW Beetle Turbo. The GLI boasts tighter spring and shock values, and rides 15 mm below other versions–plus, it’s got XDS, an electronically simulated limited-slip differential for your front wheels which enables keep wheelspin low. All the new changes work fairly brilliantly: the GLI turns in crisply on account of its electricity steering, with a tolerable volume of feedback. The ride quality’s much better than just about everything in the class, as well as the GLI hangs set for wide sweepers and tight corners much better than most other compacts, save maybe to the latest Ford Focus. It is a pretty agile piece, with just a whiff of torque steer making its way to 17-inch or optional 18-inch wheels and tires.

The GLI doesn’t look radically distinctive from the conservative Jetta. It lets you do get a distinctive grille, a front spoiler, fog lamps like those on the GTI, and red brake calipers. Inside dash wears a soft cap of rubberized plastic that relieves the dollar-store feel from the base Jetta; it also has sporty red-stitched bucket seats that contain a lot of bolstering although not an excessive amount of firmness, as well as a flat-bottom tyre with red stitching.

The Jetta’s a Top Safety Pick based on the IIHS.

Base prices start under a $24,000 with the GLI with power features, a laptop usb port and Bluetooth. An Autobahn trim package settles in a mere over $26,000, and adds a sunroof, leatherette seats, a Fender stereo audio and dual-zone heating and cooling. Another $1000 nets navigation and pushbutton start.

Powered by a refined version of the same 3.7 litre V6 DOHC petrol engine perfectly located at the 2009 model, the updated CX-9 offers the same 204kW and 367Nm of torque the good news is offers fuel consumption figures of just 11.3 l/100km – a noticable difference of 0.9 l/100km.

The modern numbers are because of tweaked engine-combustion control, bringing optimised efficiency during deceleration and also at idle.

Other minor refinements help with the new numbers, including improvements for the CX-9′s differential gear along with a lowering of transmission friction.

New and lighter 18 and 20-inch alloy wheels have already been included with the CX-9 range, reducing unsprung weight and bringing improved ride quality. The factory-fitted tyres also have a lower rolling resistance, contributing further to your crossover’s reduced fuel consumption.

Mazda’s Active Torque Split all-wheel-drive strategy is combined with a six-speed Activematic automatic transmission.

If you’ve looked at the three-year development cycle on the Danish Zenvo ST1 supercar and saving your pennies to obtain one, we’ve got great news for you personally: your wait is nearly over, since Zenvo ST-1 50S debuts from the U.S. on November 16.

Now let’s talk about some not so good: it will cost you 180,000,000 pennies (or $1.8 million) to acquire one of many three Zenvo ST-1 50S models that U.S. distributor Emporio Motor Group will sell.

Your hard-earned cash buys you exclusivity, since only 15 Zenvos will be built worldwide, with only three visiting America. It will buy you Bugatti-beating power, considering that the ST-1 50S delivers 1,250 horsepower and 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque from its turbocharged and supercharged 7.0-liter V-8 engine.

That’s a lot better than what Zenvo has planned for the remainder of the world. The twelve remaining cars, called the Zenvo ST1, will “only” make 1,104 horsepower, so people for this side of pond can finally laugh at our European cousins.

That horsepower travels to the trunk wheels only, meaning that driving the Zenvo at speed demands your full attention. Don’t take our word for doing this though, since we didn’t stack the Zenvo test mule on the racetrack over the car’s development.

If you’re careful along with your throttle foot, you may expect mind-warping performance for the extra bucks. In-house testing demonstrates the Zenvo ST1 can do hitting 62 miles per hour from your standing begin in just 3.0 seconds, coming to a top speed of 233 mph.

The Chevrolet Cobalt could possibly be dead in the States where it had been successfully replaced by the Cruze sedan, even so the nameplate lives on in the rest of the world.

Following the debut with the concept version with the Buenos Aires motor show the 2009 summer, General Motors today introduced the ultimate production 2012 Cobalt that can eventually embark on sale in 40 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Brazilian – but not America.

Along with Brazil, which is the first country to receive the brand new Chevrolet Cobalt, the auto will likely be manufactured in three more factories around the globe, though GM wouldn’t disclose much more details on the locations.

Fully engineered and design by GM’s Brazilian arm, Chevy’s new compact sedan measures 4,479mm (176-in.) long, 1,735mm (68.3-in.) wide and 1,514mm (59.6-in.) tall, while riding over a 2,620mm (103.1-in.) long wheelbase. The Cobalt’s external dimensions put it relating to the Sonic/Aveo and Cruze sedan.

The outside kind of the global Cobalt is obviously different, though we’ll hand it over to that you decide if it really is a positive thing you aren’t.

Inside, Chevrolet says that the Cobalt “has room for five adults whorrrre accommodated comfortably” even though the saloon also carries a generous boot space of 563 liters (19.9 cubic feet).

The lining styling is the similar however, not comparable to the Sonic/Aveo series with all the Cobalt with a motorcycle-themed instrument cluster.

In Brazil, buyers is able to pick from two engine options, including a flex-fuel 1.4-liter unit delivering 102HP when running on ethanol and 97HP on gasoline and also a 1.8-liter unit linked exclusively to some 6-speed automatic transmission (GM did not release power figures to the larger displacement unit).

The Detroit-based company declared in other markets, the Cobalt will be offered having a wider selection of four-cylinder engines ranging in displacement from 1.3- to at least one.8-liters.

Pricing in Brazil starts from R$ 39,980 or about US$23,000.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, the most recent version of Porsche’s top customer track car, is prepared for delivery to the 2012 racing season, priced from $689,000 — plus tax. The primary customer cars will likely be shipped in January.

The most significant changes for 2012 will one’s body, which grows wide by 1.9 inches and features new ducting, with intake air to your rear-mounted 4.0-liter boxer engine now fed through side scoops that replace the engine compartment airscoop.

Engine output is restricted to 453 horsepower. That power is harnessed via a six-speed sequential gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles.

Porsche says the latest 911 GT3 RSR — will still be based on the current 997-series GT3 RS street car — is built to in accordance with the ACO’s “LM” GTE regulations, which means it’s permitted compete at Le Mans plus the FIA World Endurance Championship, in addition to the International GT Open along with series.
With typical Teutonic understatement, Porsche Motorsport boss Hartmut Kristen noted: “Our customer teams should be expecting a technically mature, high-performance race car with which they’ll be highly competitive at international long-distance races. Our test program on various international race tracks happens to be running at full speed. We have been very happy together with the car’s performance and driveability.”
