14th November 2011 Cat: Bugatti

Few places on the planet elicit visions of specific automobiles and also Dubai elicits visions of bright, gaudy supercars. Not that there’s anything wrong with this.

It’s never really that surprising each time a supercar manufacturer–especially one called Bugatti–unveils a loud exclusive edition for the Dubai Motor Show. In fact, it would be more surprising whether it didn’t.

With the aging Veyron Grand Sport in their line right now, Bugatti is keeping a persons vision alive with special editions. For Dubai, it debuted three new Middle Eastern-market Grand Sport 16.4s.

The model that speaks the loudest may be the yellow-and-black version. The colours represent Ettore Bugatti’s favorites. The bulk of the surface is bright yellow, while using wheels and underside adding the contrasting black. Inside, yellow leather dominates, even though the car’s dashboard, leader and gearshift are covered in black, yellow-stitched leather. The center console is black carbon. This bumble-Bugatti carries a sale price of merely one.58 million euros ($2.14 million).

The second model, which we’d call probably the most interesting one, gets an all-new green carbon fiber body framed by polished aluminum. The edges, rear-view mirrors and EB logo are done up in polished aluminum. The inner continues the green-and-aluminum theme. The price for this foresty convertible is 1.74 million euros ($2.36 million).

One more model bears the striking blue carbon that we’ve seen around the Veyron Super Sport, offset by polished aluminum underneath, around the grille and air intakes, as well as on the edges. Inside, tangerine leather covers many of the cabin, save for that door panels, dashboard, steering wheel and console, which tackle nowhere theme available as either dark Indigo leather or blue carbon. That model shares the 1.74-million-euro base featuring its green-carbon sibling.

As you’d expect with any proper $2 million car, buyers will have the complete Bugatti buffet of choices to dine from.
